Request: the reader suffers a car accident and the doctors had to operate to save her, but now it is marked for life by scars. over time, her boyfriend leaves her and people start making fun of her, making her believe that she does not deserve anyone’s love. but one day, Dean appears and confesses that he loves her, it does not matter if she has scars.
It had been two years since the car accident that changed Y/N’s life forever. Two years since she laid in a bed fighting for her life. Two years spent healing and recovering. But for what? What was she fighting for?
She used to be a model. Walked along runways, starred in catalogs, and campaign ads. Unfortunately after the accident, the industry wasn’t interested in working with her anymore. While it was “cool” and “edgy” to add fake scars to models, real scars weren’t acceptable.
During that time she also saw people’s real faces. The friends she’d made along the way ended up turning their backs on her as well. Talking about her behind her back.
“Such a shame.” They’d say. “She used to be so pretty.”
“She got what she deserved.” Others would say. “Acting like she owned the place.”
It all seemed bearable until she received a call from her boyfriend one day, saying that he couldn’t do it anymore. The guilt was eating him alive and her scars were a constant reminder of that night. He was leaving her.
It was his fault they’d gotten in the accident anyway. At an after party they’d had too much to drink. Y/N insisted on getting a cab but he assured her he was okay to drive. He wasn’t. He’d sent them into a head on collision with another car, causing Y/N to fly through the windshield.

Now she was left with a permanent scar across her eye, her cheek, and her lip. While they didn’t look nearly as noticeable as they used to, they were still there. Eating away at every bit of confidence she’d get.
It had been hard for her to get out of her shell, but it was something she worked on. She’d come to terms with the fact that no matter where she went, people’s eyes would focus on her scars, but life had to keep moving and so did she.
Somehow through the web of connections she’d made along the way, she ended up getting together with Stephanie McMahon and getting offered a job as a backstage interviewer. Apparently the one place viewers enjoyed a “unique” look would be the WWE. All of their stars had some kind of markings on them.
From her very first day she was thrown into this new world, learned the ropes, got to meet a few faces.
One of them being Dean Ambrose.
He seemed intimidating to most who got to know him but to her he was friendly enough. It wasn’t long before they’d gotten together. Hanging out after work. Flying city to city to meet up. It was a wonder she’d even been able to open her heart to anyone. Still she couldn’t fully open up to him.
Even though he’d spent the night at her place countless times, he’d never once seen her without makeup. It wasn’t something she was ready to do. The makeup team on set was really good at covering up how deep her scaring was, and setting spray had become her best friend whenever they were near makeup. She could tell Dean was itching to see what was under there, but he was sweet enough to let her go about it on her own time.
“Babe!” Dean called out as she heard the front door open. “Brought dinner.”
A smile crossed her lips and she walked down the stairs to see him walking into the kitchen with a box of pizza in hand.

“Damn -” She joked. “I was just going to make us food and everything.”
He laughed, sitting the box on the kitchen island before taking off his hoodie. “Well I love you and I didn’t want you to slave away in the kitchen so I got us a hot meal.”
“Aren’t you the absolute best.” She smiled, lifting herself up on her toes to kiss him.
He lifted her up in his arms, sitting her on the counter as he returned her kissed. “Yeah – well you deserve the absolute best.”
He reached for a piece of pizza, handing her a slice before he took one of his own, taking a bite out of it. “How was your day off?”
She shrugged, biting into her own slice. “It was alright, mostly spent cleaning. I couldn’t believe how long it’d been since I was last home. I don’t even know what the smells could’ve been coming from but I bleached everything.”
Dean laughed, sitting up on the stool but pulling himself between her legs. “Sounds relaxing.”
“Very.” She returned, looking down at him as she ate. “How was the house show?”
“Pretty wild. By the end of it, Cesaro had Miz in the giant swing while Seth and I jumped over him.”
“Needless to say you had a great time.” Y/N laughed. “Where’s your next show?”
“Actually, I’m flying out with you on Sunday Night. I don’t have anything until Raw.”
Her mouth hung open before she smiled wide. “Really?! We get 2 whole days together?”
“That’s right. Stuck with me for two whole days!” He laughed. “Unless there’s someone else you’d rather spend them with.”
“Not a single other person.” She returned, leaning down to wrap her arms around him tightly.
The night soon came to an end with Dean going to bed after taking a shower. He’d been exhausted from a week full of shows and it usually took his toll on him when he finally had time to rest.

Y/N took that opportunity to shower. Finally cleaning off her face full of makeup before jumping into the hot water. Closing her eyes she let the steam relax her muscles. They weren’t nearly as tired as Dean’s but bleaching a whole house also takes its toll on someone.
The door creaked open and instantly she opened her eyes, watching Dean walk in half-asleep to take a piss.
“Dean!” She let out, turning to face the wall so he couldn’t see her.
The yell caused him to jump, “Jesus woman!” He grunted, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“Dean get out!” She yelled again.

“What? Why?” He asked, adjusting himself back into his boxers.
“Out!”
“Alright, alright!” He threw his hands up, walking out of the bathroom.
The panic had made her heart beat almost out of her chest. She wasn’t ready for him to see her like this. Not yet. Not this off guard. Goddamn, he should’ve knocked.
After calming down as best she could she wrapped herself in a towel, sitting on the edge of the tub ready to burst into tears. The thought of him seeing her like this – the thought of scaring him off … She wasn’t ready for the heartache yet.
“Y/N?” Dean knocked on the door.
“Go away.” She answered, barely above a whisper.
“Y/N, I’m sorry – I didn’t think about what I was doing.” He replied.
“That’s right! You didn’t!” She answered hastily.
“I think this has gone on long enough, babe.” He returned, this times his voice more serious than apologetic. “We need to talk about this…”
“Fine – just let me get ready and we can talk.”
“No, baby. No more getting ready. I’m coming in whether you like it or not. It’s been over a year Y/N. I deserve to see the real you and you deserve to be seen as the real you… I think that’s fair.”
She sucked in a breath, standing as she felt the knob turn, her heart beating a million miles a minute. “Dean -”
She tried but he walked in. His eyes focused on her, looking her over before they scanned her face. Closing the distance between them, he ran his thumb over the scar across her cheek, the one her lip, then finally the one over her eye. She felt the tears leaving her as all hope of keeping him left her body but then he surprised her like he always did – leaning in to kiss her.
The kiss was full of passion – not lust or a transition into sex – just love.
He held her body against is, both of his hands cupping her face as he pulled away from her lips to meet her eyes again.
“Is this all you’ve been hiding this whole time?”
“Don’t joke Dean.” She answered seriously. “I know I look like a monster.” She turned away.
“Hey -” He said, pressing a kiss on her bare shoulder. “Don’t you ever talk about yourself like that. You’re one of the most beautiful women I know, with and without all that makeup you wear.”
“Now I know you’re lying.” She pulled away from him. “You’re around beautiful women all the time. Look at everyone we work with!”
“Y/N.” He said, taking her hand to pull her back to him firmly. “I’ve never lied to you and I wouldn’t start now. I mean every word I say. You are the most beautiful woman I know. You have the biggest heat, the warmest touch, your hair always smells like flowers and these marks – they just make you look more badass. If anything they should empower you. You went through hell and you overcame it. If that’s not badass – I don’t know what is.”
She thought for a while, looking down at his chest, unable to meet his eyes yet as she listened to him.
“You .. you mean that?” She replied, her voice small.

“Every word, baby.” He nodded, lifting her chin to look her in the eye. “When I tell you I love you – I mean it. I love every part of you. Nothing – much less some marks on your face – will ever make me stop loving you.”
