Request: Can you do a story with the reader dating Jeff and her being nervous that his daughters Ruby and Nera won’t like her? (But they end up loving her in the end)
“Y/N Relax.” Jeff spoke, coming up behind you as you looked into the mirror.
His rough calloused hands ran down your bare arms as you leaned back into his firm chest.
“What if they hate me? They’re kids, obviously they’re gonna want their parents to get back together.” You sighed, looking into the mirror and tucking the front of your shirt into your jeans.

He chuckled, turning you around and sitting you up on the dresser. “Y/N. If I love you, I know they will. We’ve had this discussion before. Maybe they’ll take a while to warm up, but once they get to see how amazin’ you are inside and out, they’ll come around.”
You wrapped your arms around his neck as he stepped closer between your legs, lifting your chin to press a kiss on your lips.
“You’re overthinking things again.” He laughed, placing a hand on your check, brushing his thumb against it softly, meeting your eyes. “Trust me. You’re gonna do great.”
“Okay.” You nodded, leaning in to kiss him again. “If you say so.”

Jeff had his girls for the weekend. He’d used his seniority in the company to pick his schedule, not taking any house shows on weekends so he could spend the time with them. It was easier than splitting his custody schedule between the usual assortment of days off that the show usually gave him.
You waited nervously back at the house while he went off to pick them up, listening to the rain hit the window. Having spent most of the morning cleaning the house and setting up some cookie supplies, you fidgeted with their position on the kitchen island as if the little girls would care how organized your sprinkles were.
You weren’t really sure why you were so panicky. It wasn’t like this would be your first time around children, but it was the fact that they could someday be your children. If Jeff ever proposed, you’d be in these kids lives forever and the last thing you wanted was for them to dislike you.
The door opened and your heart nearly jumped from your chest as the sound of little feet pitter pattering down the hallway came closer. A small dusty blonde little angel walked in, peeking through the entryway of the kitchen. Her eyes widened as she looked up at you before Jeff came in placing a hand on her shoulder while carrying the toddler.
“ Nera, Ruby – this is Y/N. Why don’t you say hi?” Jeff said, kneeling down to get on her level.
You smiled, nervously shuffling while they both stared at you then came around the kitchen island to squat down to their level.

“Hi Ruby.” You smiled, shaking her little hand before tickling Nera’s stomach. “Hi Nera. It’s so nice to meet you.”
Ruby shook your hand, giving you a small smile before tucking back into Jeff’s side. He nodded at you to keep going and you stood back up.
“You’re all your daddy ever talks about, I’ve been looking forward to meeting you for a while now.” You went on. “I figured we’d take a little time to hang out today. We can bake a whole lotta cookies, watch some movies – I heard you liked Moana and Frozen – order some pizza, want to get started?”
They both nodded excitedly and you smiled, feeling a little more relieved as you pulled two chairs next to the kitchen island for the girls to stand on and help you bake.

By the end of the night, the kitchen was full of flour and sprinkles, smelling like fresh baked cookies. The coffee table in the living room was littered with pizza boxes, plates of cookies, and juice boxes. Jeff had lit the fireplace and the four of you sat on the couch, the kids seated between you and him. Nera had laid her head on your chest, her legs laid over your lap while Ruby cuddled with Jeff, both of them singing “Let it Go” out loud in their sleepy voices as you watched Frozen together.

Jeff looked at you adoringly as you laughed and sang with them.
“I love you darlin’.” He smiled, reaching his arm back to run his fingers through your hair.
“I love her so much too daddy!” Ruby chimed in.
“Me too!” Nera added, hugging you a little tighter.
You returned her hug, leaning into Jeff’s hand as he caressed your face and looked down at the little girls. This was something you could get used to.
