Request: Request where reader is best friends with Matt Hardy’s wife Reby and both the reader and Jeff have crushes on each other so Matt and reby try to get them to tell each other?
“So… is Jeff going to be there?” You asked, running your fingers through your hair to sweep the bangs out of your face.
Reby’s lips curled into a knowing smile and she nodded her head slowly. “Yup.” She replied. “In fact. It’s just going to be the four of us”

Your eyes widened and your heart started beating faster than normal. “What did you say?”
“I think that you two would be perfect for one another and it’s time you stop pussyfooting around.” Reby answered. Her tone was only 10% humourous. The other 90% of it was dead serious.
Reby had known about your crush on Jeff since the beginning of time, but you and him were just friends. He was always on the road and you were busy with your own life. It didn’t leave much room for get-togethers…until now.
A few days ago Reby had told you about this dinner cruise she and Matt wanted to put together for their family and friends. You had assumed that meant a whole bunch of people but come to find out she had other things in mind.

“Reby!” You sighed heavily, sinking your face into your hands. “I could kill you! This is going to be so awkward!”
“But you won’t.” She smirked, confidently. “And it won’t! Come on. Jeff’s always had his eye on you. It’s meant to be.”
“That’s such a lie.” You laughed, stepping out of the car as she parked it in front.
“Nope, Matt says he talks about you all the time.”
“Okay, enough, shh.” You hushed her as the two of you walked up the ramp to the boat where the guys were already waiting.
Reby laughed but didn’t say anymore, kissing Matt and giving Jeff a hug. You hugged Matt, letting Reby and him link arms and begin to walk inside before you smiled at Jeff nervously, hugging him as well.
He smelled so good. His arms felt good too wrapping around your body to pull you into him.

“You look great.” He said as you pulled away, a hint of nervousness in his tone.
“Oh, thank you.” You replied, playing with the ends of your hair nervously. “You do too.”
He looked behind us to see Matt and Reby walking up the stairs to the second floor. Nervously shuffling for a moment, he gave me a soft smile and held his arm out for me to take hold like Matt and Reby, motioning his head for us to follow them.
Oh god. Oh god. What was happening? You thought to yourself.
Sliding your arm into his, you walked with him up to the second floor where the two of them had approached a romantic candlelit table at the front of the boat overlooking the water. Knowingly, they both smiled sitting next to each other while you and Jeff got across from them.

Dinner went fine. With a little bit of wine, you all felt more comfortable. Jeff had his arm back around your seat and you leaned into it. You couldn’t help but giggle at every inside joke and story Matt and Jeff would tell about their younger days in wrestling. With each sip of wine, your cheeks getting hotter.
“Come dance with me baby.” Reby cooed into Matt’s ear and the man chuckled, turning his head to kiss her before they both stood, leaving the two of us alone.
“They’re so in love.” You gushed, watching as Matt twirled Reby around.
“Yeah, not many people can say they’ve found their soulmate, but they can.” Jeff replied.
“You know, Reby had told me that this would be a dinner cruise for a bunch of friends and family?” You laughed, taking another sip. “I didn’t find out until we were parking that it was just the four of us.”

He chuckled, watching you closely. “Yeah no they told me the same thing. But I’m glad it worked out.”
“Yeah, same. I thought it would be totally awkward because I’ve liked you for almost ever! And just to make me feel better she said you like me and all that…” You babbled happily not paying much attention as you took another sip of wine.
He was silent for a moment as you watched Matt and Reby dance.
“I do.” He finally spoke up and you almost choked on your drink with a laugh.
“Oh come on” You giggled, hitting his chest lightly. “You don’t have to be nice. I’m a big girl, I can take it.”
“No really.” He laughed, sipping his whiskey. “I do like you. He’ll I think i’ve had a crush on you from the first day we met. I remember hitting Matt and just saying wow.”
You stopped what you were doing and put your cup down, turning your body so that you faced him. “Seriously?” You laughed, “How come you never said anything?”
“Well how come you never said anything?!” He asked, a smirk on his lips as he looked at you.
“Because i’m shy, duh.” You replied, unable to keep a straight face. “You’re quite obviously more ballsy than me.”
“You think i’m ballsy?!” He laughed in disbelief.
“Are you kidding? You don’t call what you do for work ballsy?”

“That’s work.” He replied, “I’m actually pretty shy in real life If anything, you’re the ballsy one once you get a few drinks in you.”
You laughed and covered your face with your hands. “Oh god. I know. I can’t believe I even said any of that out loud.”.
“Well I’m glad you did, cause now i get to make the next move.”
“What would that be?” You asked, clearing your throat to calm yourself down from your giggle fit.
“Y/N, would you like to go out to dinner with me? Let’s say Friday at 7?”
Your lips curled into a big smile and you nodded your head slowly before leaning in to hug him. “I’d love to.”
